The Ruru (Morepork) is New Zealand’s beloved native owl. This shy little bird is mostly found in native forest but can occasionally be heard in urban areas at night. It’s haunting melancholic call is what gives it its Maori name Ruru. Tania’s Ruru heart is a gorgeous rendition and depicts the shy and sweet characteristics of the Ruru perfectly.
